Abstract

Purpose of the work. The study aims to develop a scientifically grounded strategy for the ecological revitalization of degraded industrial areas (brownfields) in the context of Ukraine's post-war recovery, based on the principles of biospheric compatibility and minimization of mixed military-technogenic pollution risks.

Methodology. The research is based on a systematic approach using bibliometric analysis of the global scientific discourse (Scopus and Web of Science databases) via VOSviewer. Methods of environmental monitoring, comparative analysis of hybrid bioremediation technologies, structural-functional modeling of urbo-ecosystems, and the "Source – Pathway – Receptor" (SPR) model were applied to assess cascading environmental risks. The comprehensive combination of these methods has ensured a high degree of objectivity in the assessment and enabled the development of an integrated model for minimising the anthropogenic impact on the environment.

Scientific novelty. For the first time, a specific geochemical profile of Ukrainian brownfields subject to "conflict pollution" (a combination of heavy metals Sb, Cu, Ni with explosive residues TNT, RDX) has been identified. The transition from local technical sanitation to the strategic restoration of ecosystem services through nature-based solutions (NBS) and bioengineering technologies within the city's "green framework" is justified.

Conclusions. It has been established that the key factor in the degradation of industrial areas is the synergistic effect resulting from the combination of traditional industrial pollution and specific military contamination with heavy metals and energy materials, the risks of which have been assessed using the SPR model. It is proven that successful revitalization in post-conflict reconstruction requires an integrated approach combining phytoremediation, biochar application, and green infrastructure development. A four-phase model of territory transformation is proposed, ensuring the conversion of destroyed sites into safe, biosphere-compatible urban systems and facilitating the social rehabilitation of urban spaces.
