Journal policy on the use of artificial intelligence in article preparation
Our journal recognizes the growing role of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in scientific research and manuscript preparation. At the same time, we emphasize that authorship is an exclusively human prerogative, since only a human can be responsible for the content of a publication. Accordingly, AI tools cannot be indicated as authors of articles.
Use of AI tools in manuscript preparation
We allow the use of AI tools to assist in writing articles, provided that the following requirements are met:
• Transparency: Authors are required to clearly indicate the use of any AI tools in their manuscripts. This should be done in the “Materials and Methods” section or another appropriate section, describing in detail which tools were used and how they contributed to the preparation of the material.
• Responsibility: Despite the use of AI, authors bear full responsibility for the originality, reliability, and integrity of the content of their manuscripts. They must ensure that the use of AI does not lead to a violation of publication ethics or the inclusion of inaccurate information.
Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors must:
• Ensure that all parts of the manuscript, including those prepared with the help of AI, comply with the ethical standards and policies of our journal.
• Disclose any conflicts of interest related to the use of AI tools.
• Provide detailed information about the use of AI to ensure transparency and reproducibility of the research.
This policy is consistent with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aims to maintain high standards of scholarly communication in the face of the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies.
